I am just about to finish my first week in training camp for my fight on August 16 in the U.S with my strength and conditioning team and my boxing coach Angelo Hyder in Sydney training out at Parramatta Eels training facilities and boxing out of Vic Darchynian's gym which included some good quality work this week with Ian Jacobs who flew down from QLD to put me through some rounds , he's a strong, tough fighter and a great bloke who was good to have around this week, I'll definately be getting him back.
The funny thing about Thursday's sparring was Fui Fui Moi Moi was invited to come to training. I think he will fight! At first I just thought it was an idea that might not have too much legs as I thought it was just Hayden Knowles my strength and conditioning coach who was talking him into having a fight to keep his fitness up in the off season. What I found out is I think Fui genuinely wants to which now makes it a real proposition. He has a cult following and I'm sure it would be entertaining. Angelo put him through his skills and couldn't believe the power on this guy! My highlight though was seeing the light hearted fun side of this human recking ball. He turned up with a car load of family to see how he goes in the ring, Angelo said whoever picks up the water bottle will be in his corner for ever, "book your ticket boys!".. the race was on for the water bottle and was very funny. I'm sure I saw his uncle fall asleep on the exercise bike which was also very funny while a few cousins punched out a few sit ups on Vic's ab machines.
I will be keeping you up to date with my progress over the next few weeks leading up to my fight so I'll keep you informed on the big Fui! If he fights I will be seeking permission from Ray Hadley to use his Fui Fui song for him to enter the ring, It would be huge!
